Writing has never been easy, whether it was writing a story with crayons as child, writing essays in school or writing articles as a journalist. With the proliferation of media, there are now so many different platforms to write (and create social content) on, each with their own unique quirks. Writing was already hard enough, but now you need to remember what type of writing works better on different platforms.
The folks at My Clever Agency put together a great infographic outlining some tips on how to create the perfect social content on each of the major social media platforms.
- The Perfect Facebook post is positive and conversational, visually engages with an image and provides information that links to more content. It should also be posted at the right time of day.
- The Perfect Tweet uses a call to action, with capitals in ther right place and few abbreviations. Link should be shortened along with space for a retweet or mention. Oh, and questions or conversations are good too.
- The Perfect Pinterest Pin has no human faces, is red or orange with little background. Light, colourful portraits also perform well.
- The Perfect Google+ Post uses a big photo, hashtags and links to users. Never a bad idea to start a conversation either.
While they are all important, one key factor is missing here, at the heart of a perfect post must be a great story. Without that, it doesn’t matter how much tweaking and optimization you do. Crap is still crap, even if you add a call to action. What do you think of the below tips?
